This is my mood board of ideas for my film trailer. I've chosen the topic of mental health, and so there a various people on my mood board that could be inspiration for potential characters. The image that was most striking to me, was the image of the girl sitting on a bed. She appears to look rather complacent and run down- she looks exactly how I was picturing my character in my head. There is also a young man wearing makeup, which could present the issue of gender dysmorphia and transgender people. The rather overweight man sitting on a tiny chair facing the wall really spoke to me, and I thought it relevant to my moodpboard as he seems very ashamed and uncomfortable, hiding himself away. I then thought that the picture of the large lady looking up to the sky, posing, and embracing life was a great juxtaposition, and I think this shows how different people cope with things differently and how different people see themselves. On the left hand side of my mood board are two cuttings of people in geometrical shapes. I think this is quite symbolic, and decided to include them as it depicts physical representation of people feeling trapped or restricted.
I also cut out some pictures from magazines as a brainstorm for the setting/location of my film trailer. In the top left hand corner, a desolate place can be seen. I thought that a setting such as this one would be quite good for the production, as the connotations it has match those of loneliness and depression. On the other hand, on the completely opposite side of the mood board (bottom right corner), there is a picture of some tower block flats. This is because I also think it could also prove quite effective to set the trailer somewhere very normal and everyday, to show how mental health problems can effect anyone, and is a lot more common than people think.
Dotted around my mood board are a series of words and phrases. I believe these words to be very relevant to the topic I am discussing within the film trailer. For example 'Relentless' can show just how mental illness is always there, always effecting people, never ceasing to stop. 'Behind the curtain' also seemed very relevant to add, as people never really know what goes on behind the scenes and it's very easy for people to appear okay when really they are not.
